MILLER & COMPANY CPAS ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES AND PROMOTIONS
Managing partner, Michael Miller of Miller & Company Certified Public Accountants, PLC today announced three new hires and two promotions at the Little Rock firm. Joining the professional staff are Thomas Carlisle and Michelle Cox. Carlisle will also serve as marketing manager for the firm.
Carlisle brings a vast background of experience over a 30-year career including public accounting, Fortune 500-corporate experience and owner of a small business. He began his career in Birmingham, AL, at Ernst & Young CPAS. He spent 17 years at Southern Progress Corporation (a division of Time Warner) in various financial and executive positions. He moved to Little Rock in 1992 after Southern Progress/Time Warner purchased Little Rock-based Leisure Arts, Inc. He left Leisure Arts in 2000 last serving as vice president & general manager. For the past 10 years he has owned and operated 360 Design Corporation.
A graduate of Auburn University, Carlisle earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in Alabama and is a member of the American Institute of CPAS and the Alabama Society of CPAS. He is a member of the Executive Networking Organization of Little Rock where he currently serves as past president and a member of the board of directors.
Carlisle is expected to perform accounting and auditing services as well as consulting services related to business strategy, planning and implementation.
Michelle Cox joined the firm in October and has two years in public accounting mostly related to general accounting services and taxation. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Computer Information Systems.
Marsha Martin, who joined the firm in October as the firm’s business manager was previously with Alltel. For 12 years she served in various positions within the finance department. She is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in Management.
Miller also announced the promotions of Mindy Kim, Certified Public Accountant and Marion Perin. Kim was promoted to senior accountant. She has been with the firm one year. Kim previously worked for KPMG, Arthur Andersen and several energy companies in Houston, TX. She is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration.
Perin, who had been the firm’s office manager for over 15 years, has moved internally to assist in small business support services. Perin is a 26-year associate of Miller & Company. She is executive director of Executive Networking Organization of Little Rock since its founding in 2004.
In announcing these new hires and promotions, Miller added “our firm has grown over the past year during a difficult time in our local and national economy. Our goal is to continue to be a trusted resource for our clients as the economy begins to recover and new opportunities arise. That requires a qualified professional staff to better serve our existing and new clients. During this difficult time in our country’s history, we are expanding by using the valuable resources in the market place to better serve the public accounting needs of our community.”
